At The Avenue Dental Practice, we're committed to providing high-quality dental care while ensuring appointment times are available for everyone who needs them. We kindly ask all patients to attend their scheduled appointments or provide sufficient notice if they need to make changes.
By following our appointment policy, you help us offer efficient care and reduce waiting times for all patients.
If you're unable to attend your appointment, please let us know at least 48 hours in advance. This allows us to offer your appointment to another patient who may be waiting for treatment.
Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice may be treated as a late cancellation.
An appointment may be considered missed or broken if:
To help ensure fair access to NHS dental care, repeated missed or late-cancelled NHS appointments may affect your ability to book future NHS appointments with our practice.
If an existing patient has repeatedly missed or cancelled appointments without sufficient notice within the previous 18 months, the practice reserves the right to decline further NHS appointments.
Similarly, if a new patient misses or late-cancels their first NHS appointment, we may be unable to offer another NHS booking.
As a courtesy, we send appointment reminders by text message and/or email whenever possible.
While we make every effort to send reminders, patients remain responsible for remembering their appointment. We recommend noting your appointment in your calendar or keeping your appointment card for reference.
We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please contact our team as early as possible. Providing at least 48 hours' notice helps us continue delivering prompt care to all our patients.
